Wild Wild Holiday in the Wild Coast

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

Costa BravaYes we have a wild time on Costa Brava Holiday. We wildly enjoyed the beach whether it is crowded or not. To be honest, we tried to differentiate if our family would love to frolic on a deserted beach or a crowded one. When we took the kids on our first day to a private deserted beach, they enjoyed their own private world and played with all the available toys lent to them by the owner of the beach resort that we visited. It was actually a cheap holiday for the family in the wild coast.

But boy, it was different when there are other kids around to play. The day seems to fly so fast and I got worried when they (the kids, a boy and a girl) are still under the sun even after lunch. I wonder when they will ever stop though they are protected by a sun block cream. Our Costa Brava Holiday was truly an enjoyable one. We spent two weeks transferring from one location to another and it is never enough. Two weeks of cheap holiday.

I rub elbows with places like Costa Brava Calella de palafrugell, platja d aro costa brava and malgrat de mar costa brava. Our children enjoyed their daily meet up on the beach. So, we never have the time to culturally visit the place or tour the whole of Costa Brava except for a few lunch on the restaurants that dotted that place.

The Costa Brava Holiday apartment was also great in the sense that it gives us the freedom to choose the services that we would like to take. We opted to send our clothes for a wash and to ask for an apartment cleaner. But besides that we cook our own food so we saved a lot. I can also control what food to serve my family. My children have choices on what breakfast they would like as long as it is on our stocks.

Somebody might ask you, where would you want to spend your holiday vacation? Perhaps you would answer that you would spend it in a place where the beaches are incredibly astonishing, or maybe you would say that you would spend it to a destination where it features a paradise like scenery. Impossible? No it isn’t. Of course there are places which are really looks like a paradise, where you can see lots of sand sun and sea. And Costa Brava is just one of the few. If you were looking for the perfect location to venture your holiday vacation Costa Brava is the destination to be.

Costa Brava is a perfect holiday getaway, there is so much that you should have try to experience in the place. Because Costa Brava is not just a region of its own, this area of Spain is known of its being diverse when it comes to its unique heritage and natural beauty. For a more relaxing atmosphere, heading to the region’s traditional villages could be a great idea too. From here, you will discover something that would broaden your mind about the region’s unique and significant history. Dropping by at the French border is the small village of Cadaques. This impressive village has attracted millions of travelers but mostly artists for over the years, artists who were famous since their existence until this recent time, such like Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali.

Visiting Dali’s work at Dali’s museum is an opportunity for you to view its impressive masterpieces of arts. It would also be nice to see his house which is located in Port Lligat nearby Cadaques. And exploring the Gala Dali Castle is also a great view to see which is located nearby Pubol. Since it is open to the public, this 1982 castle is just one of the most stunning views to see in Costa Brava. For the best and complete Costa Brava vacation, spend some time exploring the magnificent Romanesque architecture which is situated in the Mediterranean coastline.

Me, My Wife and Our Costa Brava Holiday

Costa Brava BeachSo our wedding anniversary is coming near and I planned a great surprise for my wife. Everything is set from our flights and to the destination. Everything is already ironed out. I am planning to take my wife for a vacation without her knowing that we will be going there. How to do that? That with the connivance of a few friends and a family member.

Two before our wedding anniversary, and by the way we are already 30 years married, my wife travel to Costa Brava for a very important and emergency family affair and that is a big thank you to her little sister who was the best actress in all this surprise. She was very hesitant for our anniversary is indeed coming and it would be the first time that she will be away and will spend the day without me during our anniversary. Yet, with some prodding she ended up staying in a Costa Brava luxury spanish villla. The villa is actually so big and complete with services from cook to laundry person.

Without her knowledge I was waiting already on the other room. So that night I told her that since is away it is better if we chatted and talk over chat. So we spend saying i love and goodnight. The next day, she was literally dragged by her little sister to the beach without yet giving the reason for her stay in Spain.

Again we talked over lunch over our planned last minute holiday to celebrate our anniversary and we are saying we will catch up on the lost time as soon as she finishes her business inn Spain. She slept early for she was very tired with her beach hopping in the beaches of Costa Brava.

A few hours before the clock strikes 12 midnight that would start our anniversary. The whole luxury spanish villa was filled with scented lighted candle with rose petals. And yellow petal from a sunflower where spread from the foot bed to a room that I am waiting.

Without hastily waking her…the band I hired played her favorite songs and it slowly floated to her bedroom which slowly awakens her. She was surprise to find her bed with scattered rose petals and she followed the path of the yellow petals of the sunflower.

When the sunflower trail ended her eyes slowly went up and met mine. Right there and then she burst into tears and run into my arms. Oblivious of the orchestra playing in our background we hugged and kissed each other as if tomorrow will end.

Me, my wife spent a two week holiday in Costa Brava. Every nook and cranny being visited and pictured.

Spices in Travel to Costa Brava

Monday, October 5th, 2009

Every travel brings different memories but my Costa Brava holiday brought so many unique experiences that I meant to treasure. I have to admit I loved my travel in Costa Brava for I love the food I ate during our 4 days of stay there. Perhaps the saying, “the way to a man’s heart is through stomach” is applicable in this sense. Besides the food that I loved are the sights that dazzles everyone in our group.

We are so lucky to have a local join us in our travel. A friend’s friend joins us in touring the city thus she translated most scripts and description we found in a La Jonquera. Without her, we would not be able to appreciate the beauty of the history and story behind the Catalan written scripts. It indeed made a difference for our Costa Brava travel.

Our Costa Brava hotel also serves free breakfast thus we enjoy a very square Spanish meal before heading to the Costa Brava destinations. The hotel cook usually serves us our favorite enormous serving of pesto with overflowing goat cheese. And usually end our meal with a variety of ice cream or vegetables. On the next day our buffet table is lined up with meat, pastries, cheese and again more vegetables.

Our itinerary also included a trip to the three locations of the Dali Museums thus we saw a range of different local sceneries. From Cathedrals, Arab Baths, Jewish museums and quarters and towns. Sad to say we do not have the time to spend time at the world-class golf clubs though we got to get a glimpse of literally.

We also enjoyed the human towers or the Castelles. It took a lot of prodding from friends for me to take an ounce of courage to climb those human towers. From the view at the bottom the towers already look so tall much more if you are looking down from the top.

Right every Costa Brava destinations that we visited. We also look forward to going home on our accommodation for a rest and the most awaited breakfast meals. The spices of travel lie on the very destination itself.
